| The Minnesota Division International Association for Identification Awards Program All awards will be at the discretion of the Board of Directors, MDIAI. Award(s) will be in the form of plaques, suitably engraved. A. MDIAI Charter Members Award. (Highest ranking) This award will be presented at the discretion of the Board of Directors to an ACTIVE or RETIRED MEMBER of the MDIAI, who has made significant and valuable contributions in the area of forensic science, crime scene investigations or to the Minnesota Division of International Association for Identification. The award is the highest award given by the MDIAI, and is considered for contributions as listed above over an extended period of time as a active or retired member of the MDIAI. This award will not be given annually if nominee(s) are not qualified, or no nominations have been submitted. Qualifications are as follows: The selection of this award will be conducted by the Board of Directors at the board meeting held prior to the annual conference. The nomination must be submitted to the Chairman of the Board of Directors by 1 July, prior to annual conference. Two(2) Active members of the MDIAI, as now defined by our constitution, must sign the nomination. Documentation must be presented detailing contributions and describe why this award should be given for each nominee. The nominee must be an ACTIVE or RETIRED MEMBER of the MDIAI for a minimum of ten (10) consecutive years and have ten (10) active years in a forensic science field or crime scene investigation. This award will be presented to that selected nominee who, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, has made valuable and consistent contributions in the field of forensic science, crime scene investigation with dedication toward education and advancement in forensic science and crime scene investigation. Consideration is given for significant and valuable contributions to the MDIAI over an extended period of time. The field of forensic science shall encompass all disciplines listed with International Association for Identification. The recommendation for this award shall include: Name, Rank or Title, Job Assignment, Work Background, and details of their contributions and achievements in the field of forensic science, crime scene investigation or extended dedicated service to MDIAI (The MDIAI will develop application forms available for this award.) The president of the MDIAI at the annual conference will present a plaque, suitably engraved.. This plaque will be in a different format than those used for Forensic Science Advancement Awards and Sustained Achievement Awards. B. Sustained Achievement Award This award may be presented annually to selected nominee(s), actively involved in law enforcement, in the field of forensic science or crime scene investigation. If there are no nominations, or nominees do not meet criteria, no award will be issued. Qualifications are as follows: The selection of this award will be conducted by the Board of Directors at the board meeting held prior to the annual conference. The nomination must be submitted to the Chairman of the Board of Directors by 1 July, prior to annual conference. An agency head, supervisor, superior officer or two (2) ACTIVE members of this Association, as now defined by our constitution, must sign the nomination. The nominee must be an ACTIVE member of the MDIAI for a minimum of five (5) consecutive years and have ten (10) active years in a forensic science field or crime scene investigation.. This award will be presented to that qualified nominee who, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, has made valuable and consistent contributions in the field of forensic science or crime scene investigation with dedication toward education and advancement in forensic science or crime scene investigation. The field of forensic science shall encompass all disciplines listed with International Association for Identification. The recommendation for this award shall include: Name, Rank or Title, Job Assignment, Work Background, and details of their contributions and achievements in the field of forensic science and crime scene investigation. Forensic Science Advancement Award. This award will be presented annually to the selected nominee(s), actively involved in law enforcement, in the field of forensic science or crime scene investigation. If no nominations, or nominees do not meet award criteria, award will not be issued. Qualifications are as follows: The selection of this award will be conducted by the Board of Directors at the board meeting held prior to the annual conference. The nomination must be submitted to the Chairman of the Board of Directors no later than 1 July, prior to annual conference. An agency head, supervisor, superior officer or two (2) Active members of this Association, as now defined by our constitution, must sign the nomination The nominee must be an ACTIVE member of the MDIAI. for a minimum of two (2) consecutive years and actively be working in a forensic science field. This award will be presented to that qualified nominee who, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, has made the most significant and valuable contribution in the field of forensic science or crime scene investigation during the year immediately preceding each annual conference. However, if the basis for this award involves co-authors, co-researchers or co-educators, this group of persons shall be considered as one individual for the purpose of this award and all of their names shall appear on the award with each person receiving an engraved plaque. The nominee(s) shall demonstrate self-motivation, excellence, and dedication toward education and advancement in forensic science or crime scene investigation. The field of forensic science shall encompass all disciplines listed by the International Association for Identification. The recommendation for this award shall include: Name, Rank or Title, Job Assignment, Work Background and details of their contributions and achievements in the field of forensic science and crime scene investigation. (The MDIAI will develop application forms that will be available for this award.) The president of the MDIAI at the annual conference will present a plaque, suitably engraved. D. Presidential Citations (Special ranking) MDIAI Presidential Citations may be presented to any person, and or agency that the President feels deserves special recognition for service performed during his/her term of office. Citations shall be granted to no more that four (4) persons, agencies or business per year. Citation will be in the form of a >letter of recognition= suitable for framing detailing contributions or service performed and presented at annual conference. |
